Local 22’s Health Plan has introduced a reimbursement program for our retirees and their spouses who are enrolled in Medicare Part “B”. Once you become eligible and enroll in Medicare Part “B” notify the Health Plan and send in a copy of your Medicare monthly premium. Local 22’s Health Plan will reimburse you quarterly for your premiums after receiving your premium documentation.
We encourage our eligible retirees to enroll as soon as they are eligible – no matter how many years of coverage you may have post-retirement. By enrolling in Medicare Part “B” you will avoid the 10% fee added each year an eligible person is penalized for not enrolling in Medicare Part “B”.
Active members age 65 or over do not need to apply for Medicare because Local 22’s Health Plan coverage is their primary coverage.
